BART ART
This rope sculpture by Barbara Shawcraft has been hiding at the end of the Embarcadero BART station in SF since 1978. "LEGS" is a 2-story tall glob of fringe and rope that has been knotted, braided, tied, and suspended from the ceiling where it has collected thick layers of dust and grime for the past 30 years. If you're a certain kind of person, you'd hate it, but I think it's amazing. I love that the city of SF actually agreed to put such a gargantuan tangled mess in a public place. I love how it grows out of a dismal dismal corner of the train station like a post-apocalyptic beanstalk. And most of all, I love watching the mixed reactions of passengers discovering it for the first time looming overhead like a dinosaur.

NO PARKING ANYTIME?
This sign. I walk by it all the time. Am I missing something? Am I retarded? Are you supposed to cross the time out that you don't want and write a special note in the bottom box? Eeny-meeny miney-mo?If so, that's just way too fussy. Maybe the sign-maker guy was stoned. Feel free to shed some light on this situation if you know something I don't.

MORE DESPERATELY
Since I'm on the subject of Desperately Seeking Susan, can I tell you how much I've always liked the jacket too? I think I'm just realizing my Halloween costume for this year and I have big plans to create a version of this jacket in my own way.
Wow - check out the entire blog dedicated to Desperately Seeking Susan (some of these images lifted from there) put together by some amazing Madonna-obsessed freak:
SCRAPPY MADONNA BLOG . Pretty rad, Scrappy.

Whoa...Desperately Seeking Susan Barbie with gold Pyramid jacket. Yes!
This is possibly one of my favorite moments in the whole movie that you probably don't remember: Susan eating Cheese Doodles in her white lace gloves.
Someone's recreation of the Susan coat. Pretty good.
Double Trouble.

*SUSAN BOOTS*
If you had watched Desperately Seeking Susan 50+ times when you had chicken pox like me, then you would have been just as excited to see these boots sticking out of a messy pile at the flea market. Contrary to what most people probably remember, they are actually sequins on netting, not studs or rhinestones. Either way, it's a real shame they had to be a size 6. I'm still hoping to find them in my size some day and the jacket as well, as I still think this is one of my favorite movie outfits ever.

CAZADORES MARATHON
Efty with her housewarming tequilla.
She poured us a drink.
Cheers!

And then another. Please note the mini wine glass shot glasses.
Tequilla workout.

It's getting blurry.
Goodnight.

MY FAVE
I would just like to take this moment to show yet again what has become my favorite going out bag. I like it so much I think it deserves it's own laser portrait.
I added the fancy leather tassel which makes it even better. I've been thinking I should take it with me everywhere and pose with it like they do on that tv commercial with the gnome.
Here is is in my lap on the way to a wedding.
Here is hanging out with wine. Are the glasses half full or half empty? I don't know either.

CASTLE BOOTS
I told my studio mates I wanted to google "leather tassels" for some different construction ideas. They thought I said "leather castles" which is weird. So I googled that and found these ridiculous boots. Leather castles!
You can get them HERE for $155 if you want to look silly. Maybe they'd be good for the Ren fair?

FAYE DUNAWAY
Oh Faye, you're such a fox. I hope you kick Hillary Duff's ass if she tries to talk any more smack about you.
