EYGLO

I love the idea of a necklace bag. This one by Margret Larusdottiris of EYGLO is beautiful, I love the boldness of the woven leather. I think I'll have to try something like this soon.

SKELETON CLUTCH

Here's a newly finished little bag that reminds me of skeleton ribs. Might be my new favorite, I think it's quite bitchin'.
8 1/2w" x 5 3/4h"
Brass zipper at top
Natural canvas/black leather bag
Black cotton twill lining
And the Alexander Wang Fall 09 dress that inspired it...I think I'll make another Skeleton Clutch in the opposite colorway like this - black canvas/white leather.

HIDDEN GOODS

I'm not normally a very big ruffle girl, but I was intrigued when I saw these bags by Icelandic designer Hrafnhildur Guðrúnardóttir (ya, I copy&pasted that name). Hidden Goods is total rufflemania. My best translation of the trippy, midevil-inspired mystical "ABOUT" section on the website revealed, well - not much, but I still think it's pretty cool stuff.

LOTS OF LITTLE BAGS

Small things just happen to be what I've been working on lately.
CANVAS things...in-store now:
LEATHER things...coming soon, next weekend maybe? Let me know what you like best or if you want something specific.

BLACK/WHITE PAINTED IKAT

Black hand-painted stripe on natural canvas
7"w x 5"h, 6"zipper at top
Black cotton twill lining
Leather piping
I've put a few more things in my store. There's mainly small zipper pouches (as below) in there right now, but I will be adding leather things soon, a few more pillows, and some larger canvas totes. I'll be taking a little break from color to make way for good ol' B&W, so please check back soon...

ICY COOL LADIES

Icelandic people are so much cooler than us...
Striped-pantsuit chick is my favorite. From Birkiland's blog. My favorite photos at the moment - Joi Kjartans.

JEANS N QUILTS

I love it when my worlds of interest collide. Perhaps William Rast was inspired by the quilts of Gee's Bend too...I thought of them immediately upon seeing the new Fall 09 collection. From country bumpkin to fashion runway. It must happen all the time.

RACKK AND RUIN

I'm completely enamored with the jewelry from RACKK AND RUIN. Earrings, necklaces, and pins are made with some of my favorite materials including leather, zipper, and HORSEHAIR (from violin bows!). These are some of the most interesting pieces I've seen in a while and I'm so glad to have discovered it through the cool Rackk and Ruin blog.
Check out Molly's Etsy shop if you want a pair of rad horsehair or feather earrings too! Did I mention how affordable they are? Really great stuff...Link

STUDDED CLUTCH COMPLETE

So I finished my Desperately Seeking Susan-inspired little bag. See my post below if you missed it before. I just eyeballed the stud placement, so it's not perfect. Perfect is boring, anyways.
Leather bag, cotton twill full lining.
7"w x 5"h
Brass hardware
Tough attitude
I wish I had the Susan boots to wear with it!

MORE LITTLE ZIPPER POUCHES

I've made some more little shocks of color to put in my store. I'll be adding them in the next day or so...

BEST DRESS EVER - WANG

Wow. I know everyone in bloggerland is obsessed with Alexander Wang - and he's cool and all, but THIS thing...RULES. This has DIY written all over it for me. I can think of 5 variations right off the bat that I want to make along the same lines. Where will I even start?! I'm already on it.
Wait...I just remembered, it reminds me of this crazy jacket I made forever ago. Not really similar, but slightly reminiscent of.Okay, it's actually totally different, but here's some really thrashed photos of it anyways.AND, I have an old clutch I made that reminds me of it to...I'll put that photo up soon. I like the center column with straps or gathers coming away from it - it reminds me of a skeletal ribcage.

FOLDED CLUTCH

Weekend work: a leather bag to put your loot in when you go out. This would be a good one for a bike date, just put it on your belt or around your wrist and you're good to go.

ONLINE STORE OPEN

I'm going for it.

BAG OR BELT, YOU PICK

I just found one of my favorite patterns I've made. This guy is real versatile and can be worn several different ways. I best like it as a little cross-shoulder bag that tucks under your arm, kind of like a holster. Just big enough to fit the important stuff. I'll be making a new version of this for sure...
